Hey there, {{first_name | friend}},

This might come as a surprise… but I’m not naturally great at self-care. The irony of spending my days helping parents reduce their mental load while generally putting myself last isn’t lost on me. 😅

But after spending time with this week's podcast guest, Christine Landis, I walked away with a  re-frame for self-care. It doesn't have to mean a spa day you schedule three months out and spend a fortune on. It starts with getting honest about what drains you, what you’re doing that someone else could handle, and what you might actually want if you gave yourself permission to ask.

Christine's whole philosophy is built on a simple, powerful idea: it all has to get done, but it doesn't all have to get done by you.

This episode is for anyone who keeps ending up at the bottom of their own to-do list.

Now Streaming: Self-Care Without Shame

Christine Landis, founder of Peacock Parent and creator of AI-powered text concierge Proxy, joins the show to talk about the "Peacock Parent" philosophy: proudly delegating and outsourcing at home so you can scale for joy.

Christine introduces the idea of "low joy tasks" (the ones that drain your energy before you even start), and what happens to moms who consistently push self-care to the back of the line.

She also shares her own go-to reset ritual (glitter pens, naturally), why using AI or tech support isn’t cheating, and how Proxy is helping parents move from overwhelmed to actually taking the next step. Listen on my website, Apple, Spotify, or wherever you get  your podcasts.

3 Prompts For Guilt-Free Self-Care

Prompt 1: Let AI Interview You About What Care You Actually Want

Act as a warm, perceptive life coach who specializes in helping busy parents rediscover what genuinely restores them. Ask me 5 to 7 thoughtful questions, one at a time, about my energy levels, what I used to love before parenthood took over, what drains me most right now, and what small windows of time I realistically have. After I have answered all of your questions, reflect back a personalized list of 3 to 5 self-care ideas that are matched to my actual life. For each idea, explain in 1 to 2 sentences why it fits me specifically, based on what I shared.

Mom tip: Use Voice Mode in your favorite AI tool to turn this into a conversation (you still get the transcript when you’re done in case you want to reference in the future).

Prompt 2: Build a Week of Self-Care Journal Prompts (Printable)

Act as a mindful journaling coach for parents who are rebuilding their sense of self. Create a 7-day journal prompt series focused on rest, identity, and what I want more of in my life. Each day should include one reflective prompt to guide the thinking and one small action I can take that same day. Format the output as a clean, printable weekly guide with clear day labels, generous white space for writing, and a brief encouraging note at the top. Keep the tone warm and non-judgmental.

Mom tip: Here is the 7-day journal Claude created for me - you’re welcome to use mine if you’d rather skip creating yours!

Prompt 3: Turn What You Already Own Into a Mini-Spa Experience

Act as a spa consultant and self-care stylist. I am going to share a photo of some of the bath, skin, and beauty products I already own. Review what you see and design a personalized 30 to 60-minute at-home spa experience using only what I have. Include a suggested order of use, any product pairings that work well together, a simple setup I can recreate at home, and one tip that makes the whole thing feel special rather than routine. Format the output as a simple, step-by-step spa menu I can easily follow.

Mom tip: Showing the product labels in the photo gives AI more to work with when planning your mini-spa experience. Here is the image I used and the mini-spa experience I got from Google Gemini.
